Coming from the high elevation of the Napa Valley, this wine offers fresh raspberry and allspice on the palate leaving a beautifully vibrant Merlot. Coming from Stagecoach Vineyard at the top of the Atlas Peak in Napa Valley, this wine leans more old world, right bank style. 2018 offered extremely slow ripening due to the steadily warm climates, longer hangtime gave us a lean, yet flavorful harvest.
Sourced from the Coast Grade Vineyard, this Pinot Noir blends clones 828, 115, 667, and Pommard, planted atop a limestone slab with sandy topsoil. With yields of only 1 to 1.5 tons per acre, the vineyard produces a wine with earthy complexity and deep concentration, setting it apart from typical California Pinot Noirs.
The wine bursts with pomegranate and blood orange, complemented by Mediterranean herbs and a hint of cocoa. Subtle oak nuances carry through to a well-balanced, fragrant finish.
