Sourced from the Coast Grade Vineyard, this Pinot Noir blends clones 828, 115, 667, and Pommard, planted atop a limestone slab with sandy topsoil. With yields of only 1 to 1.5 tons per acre, the vineyard produces a wine with earthy complexity and deep concentration, setting it apart from typical California Pinot Noirs.
The wine bursts with pomegranate and blood orange, complemented by Mediterranean herbs and a hint of cocoa. Subtle oak nuances carry through to a well-balanced, fragrant finish. Completing the Partner’s Series, this Pinot Noir is a true reflection of the craftsmanship and distinct terroir shared by Jon Morgan, Peter, and Paul Bargetto.
Double Gold 2023 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, our 3-acre Estate vineyard sits on a gently sloping southeast-facing site, planted in 2005 to four renowned Pinot Noir clones: Mount Eden, Dijon 777, 667, and 115.
The result is a stunning Pinot Noir that opens with a complex nose of ripe strawberry, rhubarb, and a touch of cinnamon. On the palate, a full body transitions to vibrant acidity, revealing flavors of cocoa butter and rose petal. Subtle tannins provide a smooth, velvet finish. Elegantly crafted and carefully farmed, this wine is a pure reflection of its exceptional terroir, evolving beautifully in the glass and bottle.
