Dear Wine Club Members,
The Spring season has finally arrived! We have been busy inside the winery and working the Estate vineyard. Jon will be mowing the cover crop that Paul and Simone planted back in October 2023 in the next few weeks. The Bell beans have flowered and grown into tall plants that will nourish the soils for a good mix of nutrients for healthy and vigorous vine growth.
Inside the winery, Paul and Simone have been busy racking and blending wines. The 2023 vintage was another exceptional harvest, the late warm season ripened the fruit to our desired sugars.
Your Club selection for April is the 2019 Maley Vineyard Teroldego, located in the central Valley Lodi Appellation. Spice and raspberry aromas create a very complex bouquet. The tannins are well maintained in the framework of this dry-farmed vineyard. Teroldego is a deeply colored red wine grape grown mostly in the mountainous Trentino wine region of northern Italy where it is the main dark-skinned variety. This variety produces deeply pigmented red wines with an intensely fruity character, a style that has become something of an icon for Trentino's wine industry. We aged this wine for 10 months in 2-year old 100% French oak. Cellar aging 2023-2027.
Cellar Days is coming! We’ve had some delays and we’re changing it up a bit. But one thing is for sure, the wine is stellar! Pleasant Valley Farms Pinot Noir is quickly becoming one of our favorite Pinots to work with in the cellar. The 2023 vintage is a well-balanced medium bodied with concentrated flavors of raspberries, cherries, and hints of baking spice. One of our finest tasting single vineyard Pinot Noirs will be offered at a great deal for you, our awesome wine club members! Barrel tasting and future sales will begin April 6 & 7. Cellar Days will run three weekends, April 20-21, 27-28 & May 4-5. Registration begins April 10.
Thank you for your continued support, and it is our deep desire that you are continuing to enjoy our wines!
With appreciation,
Peter Bargetto, Partner
